Julian Assange – interview with his lawyer

Jennifer Robinson

In the summer of 2018 a visit by two officials of the Australian High Commission in London to Julian Assange in the Embassy of Ecuador inspired some vain hopes that the Australian government was going to be prepared finally to confront its responsibilities towards Australian citizen Julian Assange. In this conjuncture a news item was screened on the Channel 7 of Australian television. The fact that this is a mainstream commercial network strengthened the hopes of Wikileaks supporters. In the meantime the situation has greatly worsened for Julian Assange. More recently, systematic disinformation from the media has begun to insult not only Assange but also the government of Ecuador.
